Aciclovir 400mg Cold Sore Tablets
1 x 15 tablets (outbreak treatment) – £18.99
Aciclovir is one of the most effective cold sore medications available to UK citizens. It is a prescription medication that is highly effective against the herpes simplex virus, which causes cold sores. Aciclovir is a type of antiviral medication. Antiviral drugs are prescribed to treat viral infections.
Aciclovir tablets for cold sores can be taken at the first sign of tingling, itching, or burning, which indicates a cold sore is developing. Taking Aciclovir five times a day for up to seven days has been clinically proven to accelerate healing, reduce the severity of symptoms, and even prevent outbreaks of cold sores.
What is the purpose of Aciclovir?
Aciclovir tablets are one of the most effective treatments for cold sore symptoms. They can also be used to treat the virus that causes genital herpes, herpes simplex. Additionally, we offer Aciclovir to treat genital herpes.
What are fever blisters?
A cold sore is a virus that can be transmitted through the simple act of sharing lip balm. It usually begins with a tingling or burning sensation around the mouth. The infection may then spread to the nose and/or cheeks. Cold sores (also referred to as fever blisters) are caused by the herpes simplex virus, which is a strain of the virus that also causes genital herpes infections and chickenpox and shingles.
A variety of factors, including the weather and your mood, can cause cold sores. These are some of the most frequent causes of cold sores:
- alterations in your hormone levels
- Being exposed to a chilly wind
- Weak immune system
- Exposure to the sun’s heat
- Developing a cold
As cold sore symptoms progress, they frequently manifest as clusters of small, fluid-filled blisters that burst and become dry and crusty. Cold sores are highly contagious as soon as the telltale tingling sensation is felt. Without treatment, the majority of outbreaks resolve within ten days.
It is common for individuals to experience recurrent cold sores in the same locations. This is due to the fact that the virus lies dormant in the nerve cells of your skin until it is triggered.
Aciclovir can expedite the healing of cold sores, with results visible within five to seven days. For optimal results, this treatment should be taken as soon as you feel the onset of an outbreak. Taking painkillers and consuming copious amounts of non-alcoholic fluids can also help to alleviate discomfort.
How does acyclovir function?
Aciclovir antiviral tablets for cold sores inhibit the growth and spread of the herpes simplex virus. It does not kill the virus, but it helps your immune system fight off the infection and clears up your cold sores.
There is currently no treatment that can kill the virus in your body permanently; not even cold sore medications like Aciclovir can do so. Once infected with the herpes simplex virus, the virus is always present in the body, even when no cold sores are visible.
Aciclovir tablets are an effective treatment for cold sores. However, there are additional treatments available to you. We have outlined a few additional treatments for cold sores below:
Aciclovir 5 percent cream
The antiviral cream aciclovir is used to treat recurring cold sores. If taken before a cold sore appears, it can greatly reduce the severity and duration of the outbreak.
Compeed is a treatment for cold sores that comes in patch form and provides rapid symptom relief. The patches can be applied directly to a cold sore as soon as it appears, alleviating pain and minimizing scabbing.
Dosage of Aciclovir for cold sores
As soon as you observe symptoms of the herpes virus (cold sores), including visible blisters and a burning sensation, start taking Aciclovir 400mg tablets.
