What exactly is Elleste Solo and how is it used?
Elleste Solo tablets are a type of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) used to treat menopausal symptoms. Elleste Solo includes estradiol, which is the same as oestrogen, the female hormone.

Elleste Solo comes in 1mg and 2mg dosages. You will most likely begin HRT with a 1mg dose. Within a few weeks of everyday use, Elleste Solo will provide relief from menopausal symptoms. You may experience breakthrough bleeding or spotting as your body adjusts to Elleste Solo. Consult your doctor if this persists after a few months of treatment.

HRT should only be used as a short-term treatment while your body adjusts to menopause. You should have your HRT reviewed with your doctor at least once a year, and you should have frequent gynecological examinations.

HRT will not prevent conception in otherwise fertile women. Women under the age of 50 are considered fertile for two years following their last menstrual cycle (for women over 50, this is reduced to one year). While taking HRT, do not utilize a hormonal contraception.

What exactly is menopause?
The production of oestrogen in a woman’s ovaries eventually ceases throughout menopause. This deficiency can cause a variety of symptoms such as hot flushes, depression, sleep issues, dryness, and osteoporosis. If your symptoms are severe enough, you may be administered Elleste Solo to replenish your body’s oestrogen levels.

Every woman goes through menopause. This is most common between the ages of 45 and 55. As you become older, your ovaries generate less and less oestrogen. This has the effect of ending the menstrual cycle, but the change in hormone levels can cause a variety of symptoms that can have a significant influence on daily living.

Menopause physical symptoms include:

flushes of heat (a spontaneous heat that spreads throughout the body, leading to blushing, sweating and an unusually strong heartbeat)
sweating during night
ocular or vaginal dryness
The hormonal shift might also result in negative psychological symptoms like irritation, sleeplessness, and depression.

The experience of menopausal symptoms varies greatly depending on the individual. They can begin many years before menopause and last for many years. Women will typically have symptoms for roughly four years.

Another issue caused by low oestrogen levels is bone thinning, sometimes known as osteoporosis. Elleste Solo 2mg pills are an excellent prophylactic treatment for women who are unable to take conventional osteoporosis medications yet are at high risk of bone fractures.

How does HRT work?
Hormone Replacement Therapy alleviates menopausal symptoms by augmenting the levels of hormones that the body can manufacture naturally. The active element in Elleste Solo is estradiol, a kind of oestrogen. If you’ve undergone a hysterectomy (uterine removal), the only hormone you’ll need to replace is oestrogen. Progynova and Zumenon are two more HRT oestrogen-only HRT tablets.

If your uterus has not been removed, you will be prescribed a progestogen drug in addition to Elleste Solo, or you may use a combined HRT, such as Elleste Duet. This is due to the fact that increasing oestrogen levels alone causes the uterine lining (the endometrium) to expand abnormally. This significantly increases your chance of complications such as endometrial cancer. If you have not had a hysterectomy, you may be prescribed another drug that delivers combined HRT.
