What does Eumovate Cream do?

The active component of Eumovate cream is 0.5% Clobetasone Butyrate. This mild topical corticosteroid reduces inflammation of the skin.

Inflammation of the skin is caused by irritation or allergic reactions to the skin, which causes the blood vessels to dilate and a swollen, red, itchy, and painful area of irritated skin.

Clobetasone inhibits the release of inflammatory substances within skin cells. It reduces the redness, swelling, itching, and redness, and prevents further irritation from being caused by scratching. Eumovate cream treats dry, emollient skin.

Eumovate is used to relieve itching and inflammation caused by the following skin conditions:

  • Atopic eczema
  • Irritant contact dermatitis
  • Allergic contact dermatitis
  • Seborrhoeic dermatitis
  • Photodermatitis
  • Intertrigo
  • Idiopathic external otitis
  • Prorigo nodularis
  • Diaper rash
  • Psoriasis
  • Reactions to bites and stings from insects

After successful treatment, Eumovate can be used as a maintenance therapy to prevent future eczema flare-ups.

How do you use Eumovate Cream?

Apply Eumovate cream once or twice daily, or as directed by your doctor. Do not apply the cream to infected or broken skin unless you are treating the infection with medication.

Avoid getting Eumovate cream in your eyes, nose, or mouth. If the cream accidentally comes into contact with these areas, immediately rinse with cold water.

If you are applying Eumovate cream to your hands, you must thoroughly wash them.

The areas to be treated should not have their skin covered with tight dressings unless directed by a physician. It could increase the body’s absorption of the medication and the risk of adverse effects.

Your physician may suggest Eumovate dressings. Before applying creams or ointments, the skin should be thoroughly cleaned and dried. Children’s waterproof pants and diapers will serve as an airtight covering and aid in the medication’s absorption.

Depending on the severity and condition of the skin, Eumovate cream should be used two to three times daily. You can use it intermittently over the long term, such as on weekends, to prevent the recurrence of the symptoms.

Apply Eumovate cream to the skin and rub it in gently. Adults should not exceed 100 grams per week.
