Priligy Information

Premature Ejaculation can be caused by a variety of factors, though a significant physical disease is unlikely to be one of them. Stress and psychological factors are more likely to be significant contributors.

PE has the following characteristics:

Ejaculatory latency time of fewer than 2 minutes (time from vaginal penetration to ejaculation).
Inability to control ejaculation
Personal negative consequences of the condition

Dapoxetine is the active ingredient in Priligy. It works by increasing the levels of serotonin, a chemical found in the brain. Serotonin levels rise, which causes ejaculation to be delayed.

Priligy reaches maximum levels in 1 to 3 hours after a single tablet, and only 4-5% remains in circulation after 24 hours.

Priligy is similar to some antidepressant medications, but it works faster and lasts less time in the body. As a side effect of some antidepressants, some men experience delayed ejaculation. Even though it works in a similar way to antidepressants, Priligy is not an antidepressant when used for premature ejaculation.

Using Priligy pills

Priligy tablets are only for men aged 18 to 64. The use of Priligy tablets in older men is not approved.

One 30mg tablet should be taken 1 to 3 hours before intercourse. If the 30mg dose has been well-tolerated, the dose can be increased to one 60mg tablet as needed (no significant side effects are experienced).

The tablets of Priligy can be taken with or without food. With a glass of water, swallow the tablets whole.

Do not take on a daily basis or within 24 hours of a previous dose.

What if blood pressure is low?
Priligy can cause a drop in blood pressure, dizziness, and even blackouts in some men. Lightheaded men should sit or lie down with their heads between their knees until their symptoms subside. They should not take any more tablets without first consulting a physician. It is not recommended to go from a 30mg tablet to a 60mg tablet.

Priligy tablets warnings
Priligy should not be used by men who have certain medical conditions. Men with a history of low blood pressure and symptoms related to blood pressure drops, such as dizziness and blackouts while standing, are among them. Priligy should not be taken by men who have heart disease or significant liver or kidney disease without first consulting their doctor. Men who have a family history of angle-closure glaucoma (a rare type of glaucoma) or blood clotting issues are also at risk. These contraindications are checked during Dr. Fox’s online consultations.

Priligy interacts with a number of prescription medications (dapoxetine). During consultations, these medications are examined. Interacting medications must be stopped 14 days before starting Priligy and not started again for 7 days. Do not stop taking your medication without consulting your doctor or pharmacist first.

Before beginning treatment with Priligy, men should read the manufacturer’s patient information leaflet.

Alcohol and recreational drugs
Men who take Priligy while using LSD, narcotics (e.g. methadone or heroin), or sedatives (e.g. sleeping pills) may experience an increase in side effects.

Priligy may enhance the effects of alcohol, and alcohol raises the risk of developing low blood pressure.

Priligy side effects
Side effects are possible with any medication. For more information, consult the manufacturer’s patient information leaflet.

The majority of side effects are not medically significant and can be tolerated, but some can be dangerous.

If you have any of the following symptoms, stop taking Priligy and see your doctor right away:

  • You’re having fits (seizures)
  • When you stand up, you faint or feel lightheaded.
  • You become aware of any changes in your mood.
  • Do you have any suicidal or self-harming thoughts?
  • Distressed emotions

Premature ejaculation is unpleasant. It can cause men to avoid sexual activity and come between them and their partners. A doctor’s consultation may be beneficial in determining the source of any associated psychological issues.
