Zoely is a medication available as 24 white “active” tablets containing nomegestrol acetate (2.5 mg) and estradiol (1.5 mg) and four yellow “inactive” (placebo) tablets containing no active ingredients.

How ZOELY is used?
ZOELY is an oral contraceptive, also known as a “Birth Control Pill” or “The Pill,” prescribed to prevent pregnancy.

ZOELY inhibits pregnancy in multiple ways:

It inhibits egg release by preventing maturation.
Altering the consistency of the cervical mucus to make it difficult for sperm to reach the egg.
Altering the uterine lining to make it less suitable for implantation.
ZOELY consists of 24 white tablets, each of which contains two active ingredients: 2.5 milligrammes of nomegestrol acetate (a progestogen) and 1.5 milligrammes of estradiol (the natural oestrogen), as well as four yellow inactive tablets. Unlike most Pills, which contain the synthetic oestrogen ethinylestradiol, ZOELY contains the natural oestrogen estradiol.

Oral contraceptives are an effective way to prevent pregnancy. When taken properly (without missing tablets), the risk of pregnancy is extremely low.

The combined Pill has been associated with the following non-contraceptive health advantages:

You may experience lighter and shorter periods. Consequently, the risk of anaemia may be reduced.
Your period pains may become less intense or disappear entirely.
ZOELY is only available with a valid prescription from a doctor.

When ZOELY must not be used
Avoid taking ZOELY if you are allergic to:

Do not use the Combined Pill if you currently have or previously had any of the following conditions: If any of these conditions apply to you, consult your physician before beginning treatment with ZOELY. Your doctor may recommend a different type of Pill or an entirely different (non-hormonal) birth control method.
